Patali criticizes government over delayed justice

COLOMBO (News1st): Opposition lawmaker Patali Champika Ranawaka has criticized the government for failing to take action against the perpetrators of last year's April 21 attacks and the central bank bond scam. "We didn't see the culprits behind the bond scam spending at least 5 minutes in remand," the Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian said on Monday. He raised suspicion on whether the delay in carrying out these arrests are a result of political deals. "These promises have been violated severely before the people," Ranawaka said pointing out that the government had pledged to take action over these matters.
