COLOMBO (News 1st): US Embassy’s Defence Attaché officials visited Hambantota port, on invitation by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Defence, the United States Embassy in Sri Lanka said on Sunday (Oct. 11).

“The Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense invited members of the Embassy’s Defense Attaché Office to visit the port. We are always appreciative of meaningful engagement with Sri Lankan counterparts,” US Embassy in Colombo said.

On Saturday (Oct. 10), a group of American delegates serving the U.S. Embassy in Colombo engaged in an inspection tour at the Hambantota International Port.

The Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the US Embassy in Colombo and two other delegates engaged in the tour.

The delegates also met with senior-level officials of Hambantota International Port Group.
