Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police together with the security apparatus are tracing 119 people in the Gampaha district, whose PCR test results returned as positive for COVID-19 said Gampaha District Secretary Sunil Jayalath.
There are issues with regard to the addresses these patients had provided, he said.
Gampaha District Secretary Sunil Jayalath said the missing COVID-19 cases rose to 250 on Saturday (10) morning, however, that number was reduced through a tracing process.
If this group can be traced and placed in quarantine for treatment, the spread of COVID-19 can be restricted to the Gampaha District and it can be controlled.
As of Saturday (10), 5357 PCR tests were carried out in the Gampaha District, he said, adding 970 reports returned as positive and reports of another 1770 people are pending.
Of the total PCR tests carried out in the Gampaha District, 2593 have returned negative, he added.
