Public gatherings in Colombo restricted: CMC

COLOMBO (News 1st): The 'Public Day' held at all state institutions every Monday is suspended at the Colombo Municipal Council, until further notice. "All officers at the Colombo Municipal Council, who are residents of Gampaha were informed not to report to work," the Colombo Municipal Council noted in a communique issued on Friday (Oct. 09). All occasions where crowds may gather including parties, carnivals are suspended in Colombo, while children's' parks, gymnasiums, grounds, and swimming pools are also closed, the Colombo Municipal Council further noted. The Colombo Municipal Council informed people to visit the premises ONLY to obtain essential services.
