Colombo (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board incurred a loss of Rs. 181.50 Billion from 2015 to 2019, said Minister of Power Dullas Alahapperuma on Thursday (08).
The loss breakdown, according to the Minister is as follows.
2015 – Rs. 2.3 Billion
2016 – Rs. 14.4 Billion
2017 – Rs. 47.5 Billion
2018 – Rs. 31.9 Billion
2019 – Rs. 85.4 Billion
According to Ministry Alahapperuwa, the failure to implement a power generation project at the appropriate time according to the Long Term Generation Expansion Plan is identified as the main cause of the losses.
