Public barred from visiting immigration department until October 9

COLOMBO (News1st): The public will not be allowed to visit the immigration department from October 7 to 9 due to the sudden surge in COVID-19 infections in the country, officials said Tuesday. "...the public will be temporarily barred from visiting the head office and our divisional offices during this period," the immigration and emigration department said in a notice. It added that the public will be able to contact the office during its office hours from 8 am to 4 pm, to obtain the relevant services.
