Holidays of police officers cancelled

COLOMBO (News1st): The holidays of all police officers have been cancelled until further notice amidst the sudden surge in COVID-19 infections, police said on Monday. This was to provide "direct assistance" to the government's efforts to curb the spread of the virus after a woman tested positive for the disease this week. Three areas in the Gampaha district are under curfew following the detection of the patient. "All police officers are expected to render their fullest support towards this national cause that is of utmost important," a note issued by the police chief read.
