RDA to take over all incomplete road development projects

COLOMBO (News 1st): A decision has been reached to take over the road development projects that are yet to be completed by contractors, to the Road Development Authority based on the instructions of Minister of Highways - Johnston Fernando, RDA officials said on Sunday (Oct. 04). Accordingly, the incomplete road development projects, where contractors have failed to meet the deadlines will be completed under the Road Development Authority. Such projects were identified from across the island, the RDA pointed out that; adding steps will be taken to develop all roads including those that come under categories A and B roads, as well as rural and estate roads. Meanwhile, a report on the contractors who have failed to complete road development projects, will be submitted to the Subject Minister, the Ministry of Highways said.
