Colombo (News 1st); The Education Ministry appointed a committee to upgrade the standards of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education.

Education Secretary Professor Kapila Perera speaking to News 1st said the committee would explore the possibility of allowing students following Diploma programs to also follow Degree programs at the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education.

At present more than 12,000 students are following programs at 11 branches of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education.
