PCoI re-issues summons on Anti-Corruption Committee members

Colombo (News 1st); Summons were re-issued on all members of the Anti-Corruption Committee, including former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, to appear at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing incidents on Political Victimization on the 8th of October.

This is in relation to a complaint lodged with the Commission by Piyadasa Kudabalage, the former Director of the Sri Lanka Insurance.

Kudabalage filed the complaint with regard to a case that was filed against him based on the recommendations of the Anti Corruption Committee on false charges relating to Criminal Misappropriation of Funds & Money Laundering with the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar.

Retired Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyratne, Chairman of the Commission issued a summons on Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sarath Fonseka, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Mangala Samaraweera, Rauf Hakeem, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and M.A Sumanthiran to appear at the Commission on the 8th of October.

In addition, the Leader of the Tamil National Alliance R. Sampanthan and Senior State Counsel Thusith Mudalige were also summoned to appear at the Commission on the same day.
