Bribery cases filed against Ravi Karunanayake and Arjun Aloysius

Colombo (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on Monday (21) filed a case with the Colombo High Court against Ex-Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Arjun Joseph Aloysius.

06 separate indictments were filed against the suspects for leasing a luxury penthouse in Colpetty using the monies of Perpetual Treasuries Limited and Walt and Row Associates (Pvt) Ltd when Karunanayake was serving as Finance Minister in 2016.

The Bribery Commission said in order to prove the charges the prosecution will produce 58 witnesses and 31 material evidence in court.

On a related note, the examination of the writ application filed by Ex-Minister Ravi Karunanayake and 06 others against the warrants issued by the Fort Magistrate's Court with regard to two Bond Auctions, will commence on the 18th of December, ruled the Court of Appeal.
