Kelaniya University students stage protest

COLOMBO (News1st): A group of students at the Kelaniya University staged a protest demanding to minimize the punishment imposed on some colleagues who had been suspended recently. Some students at the university had been suspended for damaging CCTV cameras that were installed at the premises of the campus. The students were allowed to meet the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Professor Sampath Amaratunga. However, the discussion had ended in a stalemate.
