COLOMBO (News1st): A gazette has been published on expediting the issuance of legal documents to those who have occupied state lands.

This is to enhance investment opportunities and to promote dairy and food production, under the government’s policy “Vistas of prosperity and Splendour”.

The gazette published by the Land Commissioner General’s Department instructs to issue legal documents to ensure the clear title of the land to Sri Lankan citizens.

Individuals seeking ownership can submit their applications on or before September 30 with their respective Divisional Secretariat or Grama Niladhari officer.

Legal documents would be issued to selected applicants in all districts except for Colombo and Gampaha in which special development projects are to be implemented, the gazette read.
