Colombo (News 1st);  The total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 649, said the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

Of them, 528 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight UL 282 from Saudi Arabia with 238 passengers, the flight EK 648 from Dubai with 09 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 28 passengers, the flight 6E 9034 from India with 29 passengers and the flight 6E 9901 from Chennai with 44 passengers arrived in Colombo this morning (9) and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (09), 136 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes.

38,863 individuals by this morning (09) have been sent back home after completing the quarantine period.

6,176 persons in 57 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine and within Tuesday (08), 1560 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 242,984, stated the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

Meanwhile, 09 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early on Wednesday (09) morning.

One of them is an expatriate and other 8 persons are locally identified inmates at Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu.

Accordingly, 634 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.

A total of 15 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment.
