CBSL officials create awareness of online transaction systems

COLOMBO (News1st): Central bank officials created awareness of online transaction systems in Matale, as part of the Gammadda door-to-door initiative. Officials had provided a clear explanation of business transactions carried out using the QR Code technology. The central bank had joined this year's Gammadda initiative to create awareness on online transaction systems that are gradually replacing notes and coins. The Central Bank's Director of Payment and Settlement Dharmasri Kumaratunga apprised the people about this growing trend. The Chief Executive Officer of the Sanasa Development Bank, Thilak Piyadigama, and other bank officials were part of the endeavour.
