141 state bodies under Rajapaksa family : Marikkar

COLOMBO (News1st): More than 100 state bodies have fallen under the Rajapaksa family, Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian S.M. Marikkar has said. "...141 institutions fall under the Rajapaksa family," Marikkar told reporters at a media briefing on Sunday. He said these institutions were under the ministries held by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, ministers Chamal Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa, and State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa. "Seven institutions are being controlled unofficially by Basil Rajapaksa who is not at least a parliamentarian," the opposition lawmaker claimed. He said the government is attempting to abolish the 19th amendment to allow Basil Rajapaksa, a US citizen to enter Parliament and to appoint him as a minister. "Once he becomes minister, more than 200 institutions will be under them," Marikkar remarked.
