Kirinda hit-and-run case, claims another life: SL Police

COLOMBO (News 1st): Another police constable who sustained injuries in the motor accident where a tipper truck driver ran over a group of police officers in Kirinda on 13th July, passed away on Thursday (Aug 20) while receiving treatment at the District General Hospital in Matara. A 36-year-old police constable died at the time of the accident, and another two police constables were admitted to the Matara General Hospital due to the serious nature of their injuries. According to Sri Lanka Police, another injured constable passed away on Thursday morning (Aug 20). The deceased was a 47-year-old resident of Kirinda. The tipper truck driver who was arrested in connection with the accident is currently in remand custody.
