“We wish to request the IGP and the Defence Secretary to conduct an investigation into this and to locate him,” Perera told reporters on Wednesday.

The Attorney General has advised the election commission to award the seat to the nomination made by the person whom they believe is the secretary.

“They will review that and most probably announce the final decision tomorrow,” Nishantha Rathnayake, the current general secretary said.
