Colombo (News 1st);  Defence Secretary Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne in order to bring an end to fraud and corruption, legal action must be instituted against corrupt officers in state institutions.

He said the actions of a handful of corrupt officers brings a great deal of disrepute to the hard work carried out by a majority of honest officers in the public service.

” We can only call it the end of corruption when legal action is taken against the last remaining corrupt officer in the public service,” said Defence Secretary Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne.
