Man dies in attempt to save drowning girl

COLOMBO (News1st): The body of a man who died while attempting to save a drowning girl in the Bolgoda reservoir was recovered on Tuesday.
Tharindu Peiris, a 32-year old father of one had jumped into the reservoir in Panadura to save a girl who was eventually rescued.
"If I have seen him, I would have saved him," Kamal Premaratne, an area resident said. "I have saved between 15 to 20 people before."
The girl had been admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital.
