COLOMBO (News1st): The Our Power of People Party (OPPP) is yet to decide on its parliament representative amid the sudden disappearance of its acting secretary. The acting secretary, who had informed the election commission that he would nominate himself to enter parliament, has gone missing since then. "He isn't answering his phone," Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thero, the party's patron said. Wasantha Keerthi Rathna, the national organizer said the acting secretary has been removed from his position, as the designated secretary who had been ill has resumed duties. The OPPP is considering the nomination of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnansara Thero to the seat and has said is most likely to stick with this decision. "We said the party will nominate Gnanasara Thero if we receive a national list seat. We can't break that promise," Keerthi Rathna noted. Some party members suspect that the disappearance of the acting secretary could have been linked to undue influence being exerted upon him. "We have reasonable suspicion as to whether he is in hiding due to influence exerted by international entities, racist or extremist groups, the government or the opposition," Ven. Sagara Thero remarked. The party is yet to decide on its national list representative and convey its decision to the election commission.
