Coimbatore (News 1st); Indian Police sources have said, Sri Lankan underworld don "Angoda Lokka" could have been poisoned to death, reported the Times of India.

Reports said "Angoda Lokka" earlier had died of cardiac arrest at a rented houses in Cheran Maa Nagar in Tamil Coimbatore on the 03rd of July.

The Times of India said the postmortem carried out at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital on the 05th of July revealed bluish discoloration of the victims finger and toe nail adding no external or internal injuries were found.

The report added, the Crime Branch CID police are trying to confirm the identity of "Angoda Lokka" through fingerprint comparison.

The Times of India said "Angoda Lokka" once used a Sri Lankan passport that identified him as "Illuwage Sadun" and he had escaped to Tamil Nadu on an illegal ferry.

The report said when "Angoda Lokka" attempted to return to Sri Lanka using the fake passport, he was arrested by the Chennai Police on the 09th of June 2017 and police had collected his fingerprints at that time.

Further, the Crime Branch CID police in Coimbatore filed a petition with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Coimbatore seeking police custody of three people arrested in connection with the mysterious death of "Angoda Lokka".

CB-CID sought seven days custody of Amani Dhanji from Colombo, Madurai based lawyer Sivakami Sundari and her friend Dhayaneswaran and the petition will most likely, be taken up on Wednesday (12), reported the Times of India.

Police arrested the trio for hiding the identity and citizenship of Angoda Lokka and fabricating documents to obtain an Aadhaar Card for "Angoda Lokka" in the name of Pradeep Singh.
