COLOMBO (News1st): The chief incumbent of the Abhayarama Temple has urged the newly elected lawmakers to remain humble as they were elected by the people. "The first thing that you must do is to listen to the people," Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero said on Saturday after the parliamentary election ended on Wednesday. He insisted that parliamentarians must not forget their roots and also maintain discipline in Parliament. The chief incumbent said that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, despite having a good heart, must take tough decisions when it demands. "Many people will come to us by concealing their true self. They are not coming to do good. They must understand that," he reminded. Ven. Ananda Thero recalled that the ruling faction was unseated in 2015 as they acted in an arbitary manner by ignoring the people.
