"Narco-Cat" has not escaped; continues to roam free at Magazine Prison premises

Colombo (News 1st); The cat recently detained by prison officers for carrying a package of heroin tied on to its leash, has not escaped, confirmed the Sri Lankan Prisons Department.
Prisons Administration & Rehabilitation Commissioner Chandana Ekanayake speaking to News 1st said the cat in question is one which roams in and around the prison premises and continues roam free at the Magazine Prison grounds.
On Saturday (01) the feline was intercepted by the prison intelligence officials for carrying a small package containing 1.7 milligrams of heroin, 02 SIM cards, and a Memory Chip, tied on to its leash.
The Department of Prisons said an investigation is underway to determine who tied the package on to the feline.
