Special Advisory for Heavy Rain issued

COLOMBO(News 1st): The Natural Hazards Early Warning Center at the Department of Meteorology issued a Special Advisory for Heavy Rain. The advisory notes, that the showery condition over the island, particularly in the South-Western part is expected to enhance to some extent during 28 and 29 of July. Heavy rainfalls exceeding 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Coastal inundation is likely along the coast extending from Beruwala to Hambantota via Galle, the Met Department stated. The residents in the above coastal areas are requested to be vigilant in this regard.
