Major appointments made to key positions at CIMA, Hemas & People's Bank

COLOMBO (News1st): Melanie Janine Kanaka has been elected as the first Sri Lankan woman to be elected as the Global Vice President of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. "It is through sheer commitment, dedication, consistent hard work and focus passion, that generates the outcomes that enables to reach the top," Kanaka said. The new Global Vice President said that she is the first female, outside the UK,  to be elected as vice president, under the royal charter, in the 100 year history of CIMA. "We can dream, but it is only with persistent hard work and principles values supported by ethics, that we can reach the top," Kanaka remarked. She said that she hopes to be an inspirational role model for women, particularly Asian women. Meanwhile, Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson is set to become  Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hemas Holdings PLC with effect from October 1, 2020. She would become the first female Group CEO of a public quoted conglomerate in Sri Lanka. Wilson was a former student of Holy Family Convent in Bambalapitiya and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. An Alumni of Harvard Business School, she joined Hemas Holdings PLC in 2002. Meanwhile, Ranjith Kodituwakku has been appointed as CEO /General Manager of People’s Bank. The appointment as follows the retirement of Acting CEO/GM M.A. Bonniface Silva.
