President's views on small scale businesses

President: Continuous Govt. involvements will hinder the development of small scale businesses

COLOMBO(News 1st): President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said, continuous involvements by the government will hinder the development of small scale businesses. It is important to support the improvement of facilities and skills development, the President further stated. The President made these comments at a meeting held yesterday evening to discuss the issues faced by Beauticians and Hairdressers when conducting their businesses. Improving professionalism, marketing skills and providing financial facilities for beauticians and hairdressers is the responsibility of the government the Head of State further added. It was revealed at the meeting that around 90,000 hair and beauty parlous exist around Sri Lanka and more than 450,000 people are employed at these centers, providing for around 1.5 Mn families. The President instructed all authorities not to hinder the progress of these SME's and supply them with the support needed.
