Rajitha, Patali, Arjuna & Anura to appear at PoCI

Former Ministers Rajitha Senaratne, Arjuna Ranatunga, Patali Champika Ranawaka and Former MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of Political Victimization

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Ministers Rajitha Senaratne, Arjuna Ranatunga, Patali Champika Ranawaka and Former MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake have been summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of Political Victimization on Friday (June 26). This is pertaining to a complaint filed by Chairman of Avant-Garde Maritime Services, Nissanka Senadhipathi. Appearing before the commission earlier, a group including, Rajitha Senaratne, Arjuna Ranathunga and Anura Kumara Dissanayake informed the commission that their names being called as respondents to this case is, baseless. They further said that the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of Political Victimization had no authority to investigate the said complaint. Thereby, they requested the commission to issue copies of evidence to the case, for their reference. Accordingly, President of the Commission, Retired Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyratne ordered the Commission's Secretary to issue the evidence copies to the respondents. According to an officer at the commission, several respondents have already obtained evidence copies. Chairman of Avant-Garde Maritime Services, Nissanka Senadhipathi is also scheduled to appear at the commission on Friday (June 26).
