85 Iranian Technicians in Sri Lanka to complete Uma-Oya Project

Colombo (News 1st);  85 Iranian Technicians arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday to complete the remaining work on the Uma Oya Multi-Purpose Development Project (UOMDP).

The President's Media Division said the Iranian Technicians were subject to PCR tests upon arrival and were taken away for a 14 Day mandatory quarantine period at a Quarantine Facility operated by the Sri Lanka Army.

95% of work on the Uma Oya Multi-Purpose Development Project (UOMDP) is complete, said the PMD adding the remainder will be completed by December 2020.

One completed, the project will contribute with 120 MW of Hydro Electricity to the National Grid.
