Over 400 complaints on estimated electricity bills

PUCSL receives around 800 complaints on Electricity Bills

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka has received close to 800 complaints from consumers regarding electricity bills. "More than 400 complaints were lodged concerning the issuance of estimated electricity bills," said Jayanath Herath - the Director at the Media Division of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka. According to Jayanath Herath, of the total complaints around 550 or 80% were received during the period islandwide curfew was in effect during the day. Investigations have been launched into the complaints. Jayanath Herath further said the rate of complaints received by the PUCSL has increased after the introduction of the online system adding the general public can also lodge complaints via Whatsapp and Viber on 077 012 6253.
