A Trial election is being held today in line with the new health regulations provided by the Health authorities at the Dhammayukthikarama temple in Vilegoda of Ambalangoda.

Commissioner General of elections, Saman Sri Ratnayaka said,  the Trial election will be held from 10 am to 12 pm today under the leadership of the Chairman of the National Elections Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya.

He further said, the election will involve 200 voters and this program would test the new health regulations in order to identify its practicality and areas where improvements can be made.

He added that the Trial election will be conducted involving health guidelines such as maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks, using disinfectants and not touching ID cards by hand.
