Dengue eradication program to be carried out next week

A dengue eradication program will be carried out next week in areas where the spread of Dengue has intensified, the National Dengue Eradication Unit said. The decision was reached following a meeting convened between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Presidential Task Force on Dengue Prevention, Director at the National Dengue Eradication Unit, Dr Aruna Jayasekara said. Accordingly, the Dengue Eradication Program will be carried out in the Dengue High-Risk Zones of Colombo, Galle, Kandy and Ratnapura, he further added. More than 19,000 Dengue patients have been reported in the island during so far this year. 22 people have died from Dengue this year, according to the National Dengue Eradication Unit.
