MRP for rice revised....again

Government revised the MRP for rice for the third time since April

Colombo (News 1st); The Maximum Retail Price imposed for several varieties of rice was again revised today.

The MRP of a Kilogram of Keeri Samba is now 120 rupees, while for Samba it is 98 rupees and for Nadu Rice, it is 96 rupees.

MRP for rice was subject to multiple revisions following the COVID-19 pandemic sending the country into lockdown.

The first revision took place on the 10th of April and on that day the MRP for Keeri Samba was 125 rupees, MRP for Samba & Nadu was 90 rupees and MRP for Kekulu rice was 85 rupees.

The second price revision took place just yesterday, where the MRP for Keeri Samba was fixed at 125 rupees, for Samba at 96 rupees and Nadu at 98 rupees.

And today, the third price revision took place with the MRP of a Kilogram of Keeri Samba now at 120 rupees, while for Samba it is 98 rupees and for Nadu Rice it is 96 rupees.
