COLOMBO (News1st): Cyclone Amphan has started making landfall in India and will take four hours to move fully over land, India’s Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.

Reports from India stated that the storm’s impact was already being felt. The Indian government rescue crews were working to move uprooted trees in West Bengal.

The cyclone is the fiercest storm over Bay of Bengal in years and had developed into a super cyclone on Monday.
