SLFP awaits SC decision on general elections

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Freedom Party says they are anticipating the Supreme Court ruling regarding the general elections. The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party met on Monday (18 May) at the party headquarters with the participation of many party seniors and members of the central committee and was chaired by the Leader of the Party and Former President Maithripala Sirisena to discuss the current political situation. "A decision on the date of the election will be taken at the National Election Commission meeting on Wednesday (May 20),'' the SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said.
