Task Force to make public transport safe

Passenger Transport Service Management Task Force appointed

Colombo (News 1st); A Passenger Transport Service Management Task Force was appointed to ensure public transport services are operated in a safe and secure manner until the coronavirus pandemic is contained completely.

The 21 member task force will be chaired by Transport Ministry Secretary Gamini Seneviratne.

Additional Transport Ministry Secretary J.M. Thilakeratne will serve as Secretary to the Task Force.

The membership will comprise of representatives nominated by the Railways Superintendant, Bus Unions, Sri Lanka Transport Board, National Transport Commission, Heads of Road Passenger Transport Authorities of the respective provinces, and the Director-General of Health Services.
