Gyms & Spas to remain closed until further notice

Salons and Beauty Parlors can only re-open if they abide by health guidelines

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said permission was granted to re-open beauty parlors, salons and private medical establishments on the condition they strictly follow the advice of the local Medical Officers of Health.

Deputy Police Chief Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said establishments which provide cooked meals, restaurants, and hotel will continue to remain closed.

Adding the curfew is still in effect across the districts of Colombo and Gampaha, DIG Ajith Rohana said gyms and spas will also be closed until further notice.

He said businesses permitted to re-open must maintain social distancing and owners & managers would have to ensure the temperature of employees is constantly checked.

Sri Lanka Police said it seized more than 600 vehicles on Wednesday for violating the curfew.

He said only those traveling to and from work and rental vehicles and tax services which transport permitted office staff can operate during the curfew period.
