Approximately 2000 samples have been acquired randomly from congested urban areas under the Colombo Municipal Council to be tested for COVID-19.

Deputy Director General of Public Health Services at the Health Ministry, Dr. Paba Palihawadana said, no COVID-19 patients were discovered after 2000 tests were conducted.

She said, samples were retrieved from congested urban areas in the Modara (Mutwal), Borella, Dinthupitiya, Suduwella, Kotahena, Obeysekarapura and Kolonnawa.
