India gifts 12.5 tonne consignment of medical supplies to Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News1st) : India has gifted a 12.5 tonne consignment of medical supplies to Sri Lanka, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said on Friday. "The medical consignment reached Colombo with the High Commissioner-designate of India to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay on board the same flight," a statement issued by the high commission read. Baglay had conveyed the greetings from India to the people of Sri Lanka on the occasion of the religious Vesak Festival which was celebrated on Thursday, the statement added. Three consignments of medical supplies were handed over to Sri Lanka by India last month.
