Colombo (News 1st); 46 civilians, who were quarantined at the Sri Lanka Air Force quarantine facility established at the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara, were released today.
Established on the instructions of SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, the Sri Lanka Air Force had renovated the 11th and 12th wards at the hospital to be used as the quarantine center.
The entire quarantine operation was managed by the SLAF Hospital under the supervision of the hospital Commanding Officer Group Captain (Dr) P A V Padmaperuma together with logistical and maintenance support from the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala.
The civilians quarantined at this center were from the Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo and the Welisara hospital minor staffers, directed for quarantine on April 20th.
