Forest officer shot dead by poachers during a raid inside the Gal Oya National Park

COLOMBO (News 1st): A forest officer has died after being shot dead by poachers inside the Gal Oya National Park. Poachers shot the 25-year-old officer during a raid carried out by a group of Inginiyagala forest officers inside the Gal Oya National Park yesterday, the Police Media Division said. Police said 4 suspects have been arrested and the 12 bore shotgun used to carry out the shooting has been seized.
