Estate Workers claim to be deceieved by the 5000 rupee allowance

Estate workers at the Mora Tea Estate in Bogawantalawa claim that they did not receive the 5000 rupee allowance. An estate worker pointed out to News1st, that the funds to grant the allowance has been circulated only amongst 75 people . "There are 10 eligible voters in my house. Will the government be contended with receiving just one vote from my home? No. Similarly, the 5000 rupee allowance should be given among everyone. These are destitute people who have come from several areas," an estate worker said. Residents of the Thulana, Olambata area in Kekirawa staged a protest demanding the 5000 rupee allowance.
