COLOMBO (News1st): Driving licenses that expired after March 15 will be valid until the situation surrounding COVID - 19 is resolved in the country, transport minister Mahinda Amaraweera said Friday. The minister had issued these instructions during a meeting with officials of the motor traffic department. The department, in mid-march, said driving licenses that expired after March 15 will be valid until April 15. However, minister Amaraweera had extended the validity period, observing that the date on which the department can resume activities, cannot be predicted due to the current situation. He had issued instructions to keep the law enforcement units aware of this decision.
