Free pumpkin for Samurdhi and daily wage earners

Colombo (News 1st) ; Pumpkin will be distributed free of charge for low income families in the Colombo District today. Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne said 158,000 kilograms of pumpkin purchased by the Government from Anuradhapura will thus be given free to 54,000 Samurdhi Beneficiary families. In addition, the free pumpkin would be given to another 358,000 people who lost their daily means of income due to the curfew which is in effect.
