One killed, 29 injured in fatal motor vehicle mishap in Warakapola

COLOMBO (News1st): One person was killed while 29 including three navy officers were injured following a collision between two buses and a lorry in Warakapola, police said Wednesday. The accident had occurred along the Kandy road when a lorry plying towards Colombo with vegetables had collided with two buses transporting people to undergo quarantine in Sampur, Trincomalee. The lorry driver had succumbed to death while the injured were taken to the Warakapola Hospital. Further investigations are underway, police said.
