Curfew to be relaxed & re-imposed for 19 Districts

Curfew for High Risk Zones to remain until further notice

Colombo (News 1st) ; The curfew imposed for the High Risk Zone of COVID-19; that is Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttlam, Kandy and Jaffna will continue to be in effect until further notice. Police curfew for the other 19 districts will be relaxed at 6 AM tomorrow & re-imposed at 4 PM the same day. The President's Media Division noted, the curfew for those districts will relaxed again at 6 AM on Monday, the 20th of April and a decision regarding the curfew for these districts after April 20th will be announced on a later date. The localities which were declared as isolated areas in any district will remain isolated; no one will be allowed to enter or exit these areas until further notice. Moreover, traveling between districts has been completely prohibited except for the purpose of providing essential services. The Presidents Media Division further said, those who misuse regulations introduced with the prime objective of ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of essential services, will severely be dealt with according to the law. The PMD said, the sole purpose imposing curfew is to ensure the well-being of the people of the country amid this critical situation. Hence, the Government requested the public to bear with the inconveniences due to curfew regulations in place, in a responsible manner.
