Rains expected in seven provinces in the afternoon

COLOMBO (News1st): Showers or thundershowers will occur in seven provinces after 2 pm, Sunday's weather forecast predicted, while the sun will be overhead five areas in the Southern region today. Rains could be experienced in the Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western, Central, Uva, Southern and North-central provinces and in the Mannar and Vauniya districts, the Department of Meteorology said. Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern province as well, the weather forecast showed. According to the meteorological department, the sun will be overhead the Ambalangoda, Talgaswala, Pasgoda, Middeniya, Uswewa and Wirawila areas due to the northward relative motion of the sun. The sun is going to be directly over the country from April 5 to 14, the department added.
