COLOMBO (News1st): The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) says that around 2000 people in Arnold Ratnayake Mawatha in Maradana have been subjected to quarantine within their homes.
This after a person in the area had died upon contracting COVID-19 late Wednesday, the CMC’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Ruwan Wijayamuni explained.
Accordingly, 18 houses in a flat including that of the deceased, have been isolated from the other residences in the area.
The Chief Medical Officer noted that the daughter, son-in-laws, grandson, and granddaughter of the deceased have been directed to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in Angoda.
At present, 308 people who had maintained contact with COVID – 19 patients identified within the Colombo city limits have been subjected to quarantine, Dr. Wijeyamuni said.
