Ajith Rohana said those who have not registered with authorities after entering Sri Lanka after 16th March from. any country in the world will be given a grace period until 01st of April to register for self-quarantine. He said those in the immigration and emigration registry who fail to register by 12 noon on the 01st of April will be arrested and prosecuted and remanded for violating the quarantine laws. Sri Lanka Police said 7000 people were arrested thus far for violating the curfew and 1700 vehicles were seized. DIG Ajith Rohana said those arrested will not be granted police bail and will be prosecuted and their vehicles will also be produced in court. He said curfew passes will not be issued to travel between districts. He added 05 people were arrested thus far for spreading false Information and warned anyone who spreads false Information that strict legal action will be taken against them.
