Police curfew lifted in 9 districts between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Police curfew imposed across 9 districts in the country was lifted this morning. Police curfew will be reimposed in these areas at 2 p.m. according to the President's media division. The general public to strictly adhere to practices of social distancing and all other health guidelines once the curfew is lifted today, said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army and the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak. Curfew imposed in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy and Jaffna Districts continues to be in effect until further notice. Travel between districts has been completely banned except for the provision of essential services.
